Preventive maintenance of SMA medium-voltage components

Preventive maintenance of SMA medium-voltage components | 25 - 26 JUNE

The installation and operation of central solar power plants has become much easier thanks to SMA's turnkey solutions based on the Sunny Central inverter.
However, to ensure maximum efficiency and availability of your central solar power plants, it is necessary to regularly maintain your medium-voltage technology.

This training enables you to carry out this maintenance work independently (according to the SMA maintenance protocol) and to accurately locate the reasons for production losses and failures.

This enables maximum availability and yield from your central solar power plant.

Language:

English

Target group:

SMA customers with electrical knowledge

Mandatory Prerequisites:

  • Employee of an existing SMA customer working with SMA inverters on-site
  • The participants of the course need to be qualified electricians, who are aware of the potential risks associated with electricity
  • Participants must wear safety shoes and flame-resistant clothing during the practical training

Recommended preparation:

Basic knowledge of large-scale storage systems

Contents:

  • Learn electrical safety rules in-depth in order to work safely at SMA stations and reduce the risk of an electric shock or electric arc

Learn and practice how to safely disable stations

  • Deliver a live presentation on medium-voltage components covering the functionality of transformers, SF-6 switchgears, auxiliary power supply transformers, cooling systems, communication protocols, or the handling of hazardous substances such as gas and oil
  • Complete maintenance exercises on real medium-voltage components to maximize the system's availability and maintain the SMA warranty
  • Perform practical exercises for identifying and fixing minor faults during maintenance work
  • Perform exercises for taking oil samples and hermetically sealing the transformer

Perform extensive hands-on exercises for replacing wearing parts in switchgears

After this training, you* will be qualified and able to:

  • Perform maintenance work autonomously (according to the maintenance report)
  • Identify and locate the medium-voltage components and understand their features
  • Confidently identify the reasons for productivity losses and downtimes
  • Communicate with the SMA Service Line with maximum efficiency and thereby resolve potential issues more quickly
  • Replace components and wearing parts independently

*Please note that your certificate of participation (after successful completion) is personalized and company-specific. This means that if you change companies, the certificate of participation will be invalid.

This training will NOT qualify or enable you to:

  • Switch medium-voltage components according to the "Switching authorization" and "Switching competence" of DGUV Regulation 3
